If speech is silver, silence is golden. And if speech is golden, silence is Diamond. You can cut any hard situation with a diamond that is with a silence. Silence is an apt answer for  all annoying questions. It stops exposure of our innocence or lack of knowledge to others in public places. It helps to control our anger and irritation on others and avoids untoward incidents.

Prayer requires surroundings with silence. Our mind requires silence to get itself focus on any serious task. Though it is capable of multi-tasking, our mind prefers silent environment to pinpoint or concentrate itself during serious and important thinking.

But for people who are habituated to noisy surroundings, silence is fearful. Any little sound will be like a big bang in a silent situation. Silence is symbolic for peace and pleasantness. Loud noise represents war and fear.

Silence is a platform for enjoying, analyzing and understanding music. One needs lot of courage to sing or speak in a silent environment. Because any small mistake can be heard clearly by others. Breaking a silence is an art and a few people can do it.

As an employee I always look at a hike in my salary. It is a recognition for my efforts and hard work in my duly. A hike in my pay among others brings me a financial benefit along with an increase in my social status.

But I don’t like a hike in the prices of commodities that I have to purchase everyday. It will nullify the hike in my pay or it may cause a negative effect on my income.

A long walk will benefit our health. Hike is a good exercise for all ages. It is free and does’t need any equipment to be purchased. It needs a simple sidewalk for safety.

So I want a Hike for my health and wealth.

Daily Prompt: Sidewalk

via Daily Prompt: Sidewalk

One day when I was walking on the edge of a road, I was stopped by a loud horn of a car behind me. The driver in the car questioned me. “Why you are walking on the road and blocking our road?”. I looked around and asked him. “Can you please show me my pavement?” He looked aside. His eyes widened and looked along both sides of the road and said. “Sorry Gentleman! I am new to this area.” His car moved away slowly showing the heaviness of his heart.

Most of the towns in our country do not have sidewalks. Reason may be lack of funds with the local governments. No road tax is collected from walkers. It may also be a reason for not providing them a path for walking.

At some places good and wide footpaths are provided for the pedestrians. But most of them are occupied by petty hawkers and beggars. They are permanent residents of those places. Nobody can move them away from there.

Sidewalks help us to remember the walk which is a natural movement given by God to the humans. Sitting and sleeping postures are for relaxing. Walking only can energize our body besides taking us to different places in a open space. A fearless and free walk is possible only on sidewalks.
